San francisco games workshop

If you love to hike, this is the group for you! Be sure to update your RSVP if your attendance plans change, and avoid last-minute changes whenever possible. You will need to be comfortable walking up and down steep hills. We also occasionally organize urban hikes and trips to other regional park systems. Some hikes will be on-leash and some will not allow dogs at all. Participants must be responsible for their own safety and well-being. This is a very social group.

We like to talk, laugh, and enjoy ourselves while getting our exercise out on the trail. In the Bay Area we are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by hundreds of thousands of acres of open space filled with hiking trails. Join us as we explore and meet new friends! I acknowledge that the group organizer and assistant organizers for this group are NOT guides or trip leaders.

We have no training or qualifications as guides or trip leaders. East Bay Hiking Meetup is a social group for organizing hikes.

All hikers are responsible for themselves, their dog s , their guest s and any event that occurs to or because of them. It is highly recommended that each participant sign up for an event through the meetup site.

If I am allowing children under the age of 18 or any guest, to participate in this hike, I agree on their behalf to the terms of this Release. You further agree that if you or someone under your supervision uses the information on this website you assume all risks of injury, damage, and economic loss, without limitation, and release providers from all liability therefore.

Organizers choose locations and routes, but it is up to you to decide whether the event is appropriate for you to attend. Ultimately you are responsible for your own safety. Bay Area Bitcoiners is a casual group for bitcoin lovers, learners, and newbs. We get together regularly around the Bay-Area to meet like-minded friends and discuss all things bitcoin over a beer or two.

We are a group of women who enjoy challenging weekday hikes in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is not a group for beginners. Some of us are retired or with kids off to college, some are stay at home moms with school-age kids, others have flexible work schedules or are in between jobs. Regardless, we all have time during weekdays when the trails are empty and parking is a breeze! We mainly focus on peninsula, south bay, east bay, and coastal trails, but also plan excursions to Mt.

Tam, Marin Headlands, and San Francisco urban hikes. Sometimes we do exploratory hikes and some hikes can include some scrambles - please be sure to read the entire hike description so you know what you are signing up for in advance.

All members can schedule a hike or suggest a hike, and are encouraged to do so through the meetup app! Let me know if you have questions on how to do this. We throw in many dog-friendly hikes too! We enjoy each others company and believe that friendly conversation is as much part of a good hike as the beautiful views!

If this sounds good, please come join us- we would love to meet you! I will specify which hikes are dog friendly. Unless we have at least 3 hikers confirmed 2 hours before the start of the hike, the hike will be cancelled. Thanks for your understanding! PS - We ask that you do not request to join if you want to study us or are media.

We are not unicorns and do not wish to be treated as such:P. Group that is focused on fun and socializing. We want to bring people together, whether you are new to the area or a local.

Planning different events like Socials, Outdoor Sports pickup format and other unique events for members to create new friendships or just network for fun. Join the group and come meet your new meetup family!

We'll be hiking in the most spectacular settings for the season. We'll hike in the shade if too hot and in the sun if chilly. Try to find the fog when the temps rise. Have lunch with a spectacular view and out of the wind. Hopefully with picnic tables and restrooms.

Safety is always my 1 priority. I will be as aware as I can of any danger. But I am not responsible for your safety. As adults you are responsible for your own personal safety and the all decisions you make in that regard. Liability Disclaimer: The organizer of this meet-up is not operating a business. Review the list and take heart and sign-up. Dream of the good times ahead.

Look at some of the over photos and picture yourself right there. I know a lot of us are very cautious about getting together in groups of any kind, anywhere. But this will end, stay in shape and look ahead to better days, sign-up for some hikes in the future while you are here.

The group is for walkers and hikers who love to be immersed in the gorgeous, special places California offers. And while in that immersion, connect not only emotionally to these places, but learn about the natural science and human history of the locations.

And to do this with kindness, patience and open heartedly. And best of all to make friends with those we get to know. But the reality of managing a Meetup group is hard work. It has to be done carefully. Good judgement and basic people managing skills are needed.

It's the organizers job to skillfully lessen that percentage. Some theories have it that the less lead time you give members for an Event, the less likely they are to forget they RSVPed? The theory being forgetting they RSVPed is the the main reason for no-shows?

When you compare Meetup to the social clubs of the past. Meetup is just Club Lite. Committing in a very personal relationship is a challenge for many. Is the same thing happening here in broader social relationships? Maybe keeping it lite is a way of compartmentalizing, keeping safe emotional boundaries.

If friendships develop it will happen over the long term when an amount of certainty has developed? I guess?

I prefer guiding small group hikes, ideally of less than seven people. But it is hard to manage meetups and actually control the numbers that will appear at the start of a meetup hike. The small groups foster relaxing, calming, mindfulness and meditation. If your work or life situation is totally stressing you out and you need to talk a great deal to strangers about all sorts of things, look for the Forest Bathing and Ocean Bathing at Duxbury Reef hikes that have as a goal reaching a meditative state of mind.

I've been leading hikes on Mt. Tam since So I know most of the areas very well. And also what to look for and when. These are very doable hikes for everyone who can hike. If you can manage walking up some very steep hills, can maintain your balance on very rocky, root covered uneven surfaces and have the stamina to walk about five miles you'll do fine.

I think the best thing is to have a routine where you are walking everyday including going on these hikes. Please let me know if I can answer any questions, as far as getting started? If the above concerns you let me say this. You have to start somewhere. Walking is very gentle. Come do as much as you can and then come again and do a little more. If you have to stop and go back to your car, just be aware of the return route.

There is so much to gain don't let negative concerns stop you. During the Pandemic we will abide by the public health guidelines necessary to protect the health of participants.

We will continue to hike, wear masks and stay at a safe distance from one another. Who is harmed if people choose to hike? We've been hiking since this started and no one I know has been adversely affected by the hikes.

What is lost if we stop? I know the answer and it is not good, that's for sure. The cost of living in the Bay Area is very high. We all have to work, or have had to work, very hard, to afford to live here. One of the mitigating factors is the openness to diversity found here. One aspect of life here we can control is how we access one of the most beautiful outdoor recreation areas in the whole country.

With the above said, utilize our amazing outdoors to forget about work and worries or the ravages of age and everyday cares and achieve a relaxed state of mind and body to the greatest extent you can.

That's the goal of this Meetup and has been my personal goal for over twenty-six years of spending as much time outdoors as I can. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone who'd like to have a better understanding of game audio.

Steve and Scott do a really great job of laying out the foundations of video game audio. We brought Scott and Steve out for an all-day hands-on workshop.

The book has been a great resource for my audio students and the new online course promises to be fantastic for all levels of student!

Thank you Scott and Steve! I recently participated in Steve and Scott's seminar in LA on FMOD and Unity, and I was blown away by their professionalism, preparation, and deep understanding of games and game audio.
