I have tried a new spark plug and have tried 3 different ignition coils since these are common to fail, accoring to the local yamaha dealer When I turn the key, there is a little "click" from a relay at the back of the bike followed by a little "grunt" from somewhere near the engine. I can confirm this is the full dealership service and workshop manual for the Yamaha TDR including all the detailed repair procedures, much better than a Haynes or Chilton manual.
I don't know how this guy managed to get it but wow. Youtube is awesome too for car and motorcycle maintenance. Plus this one is very detailed. I'm having difficulties finding a wire harness diagram for this engine. I need to figure out how to replace the wires and plugs. The check engine light is ok but the test showed that 4 is misfiring and there is no flow to the evaporator canister; where are these located on the engine?
You should be able to easily install plugs and wires yourself on the Yamaha TDR Depending on the engine orientation, some of the plugs may be difficult to access.
